Purchasing a vehicle is one of the biggest, most expensive and most significant that the average consumer can expect to face. It’s a major investment, and one that most people take care to maintain in order to both retain the value of their vehicles and also save money over time by increasing the longevity of their cars.
[BUTTONS1]It is a common misconception that only large trucks or trailers can be wrapped. This is simply not true. Although you frequently see them on the road with excellent wraps, Signs & More professionals provide full vehicle wraps for Atlanta business owners that drive considerably smaller cars, trucks or vans.
[BUTTONS2]Owners tend to experience a sharp dip in value right from the get-go. It can be very difficult to provide protection adequate enough to keep your car in resale shape as it withstands the effects of time and the elements.
Before purchasing a vehicle wrap for your car, truck, or boat, you should first understand what kind of vinyl materials are available. There’s not just one type of vinyl used for every installation. There are several different kinds, and your particular vehicle wrap project will depend on a few factors.
We use different manufacturers for our wraps. I prefer Oracal products — we’re Oracal certified as vehicle wrap installers and have a certification center here at our corporate office — but we’ve also used Avery products in the past.
The choice ultimately comes down to what the customer needs. For example, if you have a large box truck with flat surfaces, we can use a high-performance calendared vinyl, because that’s going to last for a long time, and because there aren’t a lot of curves or rivets to work around. It’s easy to install, and our design boundaries are basically the framed edges of the sides of the panel.
Compare that to a Porsche or a Ferrari which has a lot of curves and body lines. For something like that, we would use a different vehicle wrap material called a cast material, because it has to wrap around and conforms to the different body lines.
Another new material we work with is used for vehicle accents. The vehicle accent market is a new emerging one for us, and one that people are getting excited about. We’ve talked in the past about using vehicle wrap to give a car a new look, rather than painting it. We would use the same material for a “repaint” that we would for accents.
For example, you can get accent vinyl material in a matte black or a matte blue and change the color and look of your vehicle without breaking the factory paint, while keeping all the factory warranties intact.
This lets us work with the everyday customer who doesn’t want to spend $4,000 on a complete vehicle wrap, but still wants to customize their car. I have a black Infiniti, and I have matte black vehicle wrap accents on the top as well as on the trunk. You can wrap your car with a different color, and when you go to sell it, you can simply restore your vehicle back to its original color by peeling the vinyl off. This works for Leases too.
We also have reflective vinyl material, although it’s used primarily in the emergency vehicle range — fire, EMS, police. It’s used for situations where the vehicle needs to be seen in the dark by oncoming traffic.
Maybe the best and most underused way to protect your car and help retain its value is to get a vehicle wrap.
It’s a super affordable measure of protection.
Rather than having to paint or touch up your car when the time comes to sell it or trade it in, purchase a vehicle wrap to save hundreds or thousands of dollars. Exterior care comes with a hefty price tag. It makes far more fiscal sense to prevent having to pay out for your car’s exterior in the first place by providing the ultimate coverage with a full car wrap.
You can find one just for your vehicle
A wrap made for a truck just won’t do for a mid-sized sedan. Fortunately there’s a huge selection out there to find the vehicle wrap that’s made just for your model. Look online to find deals on new or used car wraps for your vehicle.
Different kinds of wraps for different kinds of needs
No matter your budget, your environment or your purpose, there’s a wrap out there for you. You can find full wraps to provide the ultimate coverage, partial wraps to strategize your vehicle’s protection, or you can even find customizable options to serve the dual purpose of protecting your car and also advertising your business.
It’s worth the time, research and money to invest in the protection of your vehicle with a car wrap.
